With the growing popularity of the 9K series there is more and more add-on
software appearing on the market. Here's a list of some packages I tried
on my communicators so far, divided into categories and sorted by my
private preferences :-) Stay tuned as I will add some more in the next

| CellID Tracker (2.0B4) (DL) (INS) | Dave Chapman | Keeps track of the Cell IDs you're travelling through and writes a CSV Log with timestamps. A nice toy which actually can be usefull: Daniel, the original author, wrote it so his 9110 could wake him up on the bus when getting close to the stop he has to leave, I use it to keep track of the time I spent at my different clients.Runs only on 9110! | Freeware with source |
| Configuration Rescue (0.1b) (DL) | Petr Vesely | This application saves Internet settings, access points, remote mailboxes and some other settings, and in case of temporary files removal because of geos.ini corruption these settings can be easily restored. | Freeware |

| D2-Messagechat | D2 | D2-Messagechat, an IRC-like chat but using SMS instead of being online all the time, really nice. It's from D2 but should work OK on all other networks, no special service is required, every communicator sends the message to all other participants. | Freeware |

| LOLA (DL) (INS) | Marcus Groeber | Little Operator Logo Assistant - LOLA allows you to send graphical Short Messages for setting the operator logo on the front panel of the phone and exchanging caller group graphics as well as sending Picture SMSs. | Memory Manager | Yellow | A tool to move data like received faxes, SMS, calendar and so on from the valuable internal memory to the Memory Card (9110 only). It also configures the communicator so new received data is directly stored on the MMC (for example you can receive large faxes directly to your memory card). As the tool is commercial: you can do all this also manually by using a file manager and an init file editor, for details see the Tips section of 9kworld (see links). But if you're mor a user and don't like patching around on your 9110s ini file yourself I think that tool's quite worth the money. | Commercial |

| Pick-a-pic (DL) (INS) | Marcus Groeber | opens a GIF or JPEG file and puts it into the Communicator's clipboard as a "pastable" text snippet. This allows images to be pasted into the Notes application. This is mostly intended for printing and faxing multiple pictures in a single document. For example, you could use it to position your signature anywhere in a fax. | Freeware |
| Plain Text Editor (1.01) (DL) | Syrinx | a text editor that saves out unix style ascii files. If you don't use unix though don't worry as these files are easily converted to DOS or Windows. Also useful if you want to develop html files for testing with the communicator's browser. | Freeware |
| Pocket Smalltalk (DL) | Petr Novak | an implementation of the popular programming language Smalltalk. It consists of a development environment which runs on Windows 95/NT along with a cross-compiler which can generate "application" files from Smalltalk source code.
